Julia R. Grimm, LISW-CP

Julia R. Grimm, LISW-CP is a licensed clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience in the field of child and family trauma and maltreatment. Julia completed her Masters in Social Work at the University of South Carolina and has since served the University as a field instructor for multiple MSW students, as well as an adjunct faculty member with a focus on direct practice with individuals, families, and groups. Julia is an affiliate clinical trainer and consultant with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth. She has trained teams nationally in the Problematic Sexual Behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy models for both school age children and adolescents (PSB-CBT-S and PSB-CBT-A) for six years and supported successful model implementation and sustainability with clinical teams across the country. Julia also provided and trained in PSB-CBT-A and PSB-CBT-S for more than 10 years at the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center, where she served as a clinician, forensic interviewer, and clinical supervisor. Julia is also a published co-author on a peer-reviewed article related to outpatient treatment outcomes for adolescents with PSB. Julia is a nationally certified provider of Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and a provider and clinical trainer in Risk Reduction through Family Therapy (RRFT). Her primary clinical focus has been working with youth who present with problematic sexual behavior, high risk sexual decision making, substance use, and/or a history of trauma and traumatic impact. Julia has served on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She has presented locally, regionally, and nationally on topics relevant to her areas of expertise. She resides in Charleston, South Carolina where she is presently self-employed with a practice focus on clinical training, consultation, teaching, licensure supervision, and career sustainability for helping professionals.
